Why did you decide to join the board?

“It’s the right thing to do”. It takes a village to raise a child. To survive in the mountains and to thrive in our small community collaboration is key. I feel blessed to be able to give back, to volunteer, to play a small part in the lives of the next generation.

Jason Jamieson

Vice President

Business owner, plumber

Why did you decide to join the board?

Supporting the children of our community. My wife and I were house parents of the shepherds home for 5 years!

Why did you decide to join the board?

The moment I stepped into The Shepherd's Home, I discovered something beautiful: in a world that often feels broken, there are people who dedicate their lives to helping others. I've watched a community of volunteers pour their hearts into creating a safe haven for our most vulnerable. It's funny - we hear so much about what's wrong with the world, but here, in the heart of Idaho, I've seen nothing but love in action. This community stole my heart, and now it's my turn to give back.

Marc de Jong

Director

Building Contractor, Retired Fire Chief

Why did you decide to join the board?

My desire to help kids in need.

Anthony Henry

Director

I spent 15 years working in Christian Camping and youth development, 6 of that full-time. I have an AA in Criminal Justice and am taking business management classes through Boise State. I am currently the Inside Sales Manager for Franklin Building Supply and serve as the Chairman of our Employee Ownership Committee.

Why did you decide to join the board?

As a person who was raised entirely by the foster care system, I have a passion for people who have nowhere to go. For my age, I have an extensive background in youth development, facilities management, and non-profit governance. I am grateful for the opportunity to connect some of those dots and apply myself to such a valuable organization. I am at a stage in my life where I am finally ready to engage in advocacy for those who are growing up like I did.

Katey Basye

Director

Assistant Principal-Meadows Valley, Middle School Math Teacher, Elementary Teacher, Firefighter/EMT-B, Dispatcher for Idaho State Communications.

Why did you decide to join the board?

I decided to join the board because I want to help ensure our youth have a safe and special place to go in a time of need. It is such a special place to our family and felt it was where I needed to be!

Garth Lynch

Director

Retired Deputy Sheriff

Why did you decide to join the board?

The mission of Shepherd's Home resonates with me.  The necessity for foster care is without a doubt and when you see there is a need, sometimes you must ask yourself, "why not me?"  I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful program.

Heidi Kreider

Administrator

Wife, Mom, Nana

Why did you decide to join the board?

I joined Shepherd's Home as the Administrator in 2024 after working in the corporate world for several years. I had been looking for a new position that would allow me to serve others when this positioned opened up. Shepherd's Home is the perfect place to do so. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as the liaison between the houseparents, the Board, the volunteers, and the community. I don't have a job; I have a JOY!

Retired Boeing Engineer and Associate Technical Fellow

Why did you decide to join the board?

I volunteer with Shepherd’s Home because I deeply believe in their mission. Fulfillment of the mission requires a strong financial basis. My professional and philanthropic experience have given me skills that I can apply to the shared oversight of the SHF endowment funds. One of my favorite quotes is by Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Jim Dardis

Director

Retired rural Family Physician, starting in McCall in 1987, practicing a full range of outpatient/inpatient/ER/surgical obstetrics with some General Surgery for 27 yrs in McCall, 4 years in Grangeville, 2 years in Cascade, with 2 outstanding Locums Tenens stints of 6 months each in New Zealand (2013 and 2018). My motto, if I had one, was: “To be a successful Family Physician, just treat your patients like family.” I do not have actual numbers, but am guessing I delivered btw 350-450 babies in my 27 years in McCall. What a gift to be involved with that many families!! That was the best part of my professional life.

Why did you decide to join the board?

The Shepherd’s Home fulfills a huge need in McCall. It is a privilege to help to ensure the future of this ministry by working with the Foundation. I was on the initial Bd of Directors with Bill and Dottie Basye during the formation of the Shepherd’s Home, and now that I am retired, I have much more time to give to this Board. I am really looking forward to this opportunity!
